Marriage is a kind of bound between the two people who love each other and make this love official. Lots of people give incredible importance to marriage. They think that it is the only way to have a relationship or sexual interaction with someone. Especially conservative people strictly restricts even hanging out of two people from different sexes together. They do not allow their daughters to go out with a boy, since they think that every interaction between two people from different sexes may lead to a sexual relationship and this situation may damage the girl's social position. I think this thought is disgusting, since they treat females like they were some kind of commodity that only one sexual relationship might make it worthless. Since they see females like a commodity, the marriage is seem like a trade. If we look at the definition of marriage that I wrote, marriage stems from a kind of love, however we cannot mention about love during a trade. Marriage should be by love not by a trade. And these are my thoughts about what marriage is marriage and what it is not.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you in all your opinions. Yet, this trade stuff is generally considered in East countries such as Iran, Saudi Arabia etc etc.. As you said, marriage should include mutual love but even in our country girls are forced to marry a guy in exchange for money. It is just a shame for us. What a pity..
You are totally right, Mr. Kizilırmak. general percetion in the society is if you stay girl's home, you will have a sex with her. My mum also treat me in a same manner. When i say; mum! i will go to my friend's home to stay, she replies that if you do not go to girl's home , you can stay but otherwise you don't!! this is so weird.
ReplyDeleteıf it is a trade ,probably it is love trade because ı dont meet with any people want to marry without love. on the other hand if you love you want to be with your lover without thinking am ı bounded :)
